Radio Sports!

Post by sopachrga »

While practicing in my music room last night, I noticed that when I stopped playing I was picking up a radio station on my amp.

Now had this been a decent station, I may not have objected, but no... It was some talkbalk station.

Is this caused by a problem, or is it just the way amps work, that this will sometimes happen?
Ummm....

Your amp is a rugby fan... is that such a sin? ;)

I think its more likely to be a lead or guitar letting the signal in than the amp itself. If it happens again, try unplugging the guitar immediately and then the lead from the amp and see which action if any ends the torture.

Its probably a combination of just the right lead length, control settings etc tuning in on the station frequency.

Actually, now that you mention that. I did notice that one of my leads was a bit crackly last night, like the solder at the plug is a bit damaged.

I might take the end off, and resolder it tonight and see if it helps.
Ummm....

I once made a fuzz pedal that could pick up radio stations quite well.

LOL!

That's pretty much what happened, too!! :)

Except it was more likely to be a Zep, Heep, Sabbath, Purple or Santana number..
