Re: Mesa Boogie Mk VII
Nope! Apparently they have said its such a leap forward from previous mark series amps that they skipped 6 entirely!

Re: Mesa Boogie Mk VII
I was somewhat underwhelmed by the clean tones from the MkV, so hoping this can improve there!

And wow, that is quite an amp... Like the presenter said: the three modes on the first channel are all I really need. Yep. But I like that channel 2 & 3 are more open and angry, not just the smooth Boogie violin tone, Some great woody tones in there.

What do you think of the new Iconic Series 5150 amps?

Fuck off.... I'm still trying to resist that 5150 Combo listed at the moment.....$1100, one owner....that's a lot of bad back for the buck.

Re: Mesa Boogie Mk VII
As a previous user of the Mark V, there are a few puzzling decisions in here for me:
- No overall Master volume pretty much renders this amp all but unusable imo. The three channels of a Mark series are already such a balancing act without having to worry about matching volumes at a gig
- The more modern high gain MkVII mode (which I guess replaces MkV Extreme) is in the middle Ch2 and the old school MkII stuff is in Ch3?? Inexplicable
- Solo boost deleted which means you won't get the full benefit of the three channels if you have to reserve one as the lead
I like the addition of the Cab Clone IR and MIDI but... it's a no from me, especially at whatever insane price it'll no doubt land at.

Re: Mesa Boogie Mk VII
Haha therein lies the issue with the Mark series. Ch1 is three amps which is all you need... but you'll never be able to use them all together. Each time you switch modes you also have to drastically revoice the amp.olegmcnoleg wrote: ↑Wed Mar 08, 2023 1:06 pm And wow, that is quite an amp...
