To be honest I can't remember, probably $30 buck incl postage from the states, I really can't remember though. I payed 20c to put a resistor into mine cause I didn't need the tremolo anyway.darkness wrote:you don't think that already went through my headPolar Bear wrote:What better to learn on though?!

FIIK All I know is the one that is installed in the C30 is crap. It does something in the tremolo channel. Outside of that I really don't know...

An optocoupler (IIRC) is simply a means to electrical isolate sections, particularly when there are different signal voltage levels. Instead of a direct electrical connection, they work on light emitted and received.

Its an LED shining into an LDR. When the voltage into the LED is high, it shines brightly causing the LDR resistance to be high (or maybe low). In a tremolo circuit you put an oscillating voltage into the LED and run the audio signal through the LDR. The signal volume then goes up an down as per the oscillation you started with.

And the optocoupler in the vox has a habit of making a half arsed oscillation at all times.

"About a Girl" by Nirvana was my first one...
Time of your life by Green Day is another good one.
kinda got it in my head to do smells like teen spirit.
AFK.
Smells like teen spirit is good & the bridge is surprisingly easy. The rhythm is what makes nirvana songs good & he was damn good at it imo.darkness wrote: hehe Time of your life was something tsuken had me working on a while back. my strumming rthym was way off.

I've got this book here (but haven't used it for a while), but I picked up a number of nifty nirvana things including the SLTS solo & general vibe:

Its quite good because they break the song up into bits & play both fast & slow. Might seem like overkill to some for songs as simple as nirvana but I found it really great to work with. I still prefer to use a metronome to get it together & then go onto the provided CD but I don't think thats necessary with these types of books.
