From what I hear, Logic is near impossible to crack nowdays.
Logic is the only Apple product I hate.

Cubase is easy to find for pc or Mac but as Kristie said, cheap interfaces often come with some software, usually Cubase or Ableton.

nah protools freebie version wouldn't work, everything else I've tried does

Yeah, when I went from '98 to XP I it took my ages to figure out why my free protools was no longer working. eg. Cos it is samick.

I mostly use adobe audition at home, but intend to get cubase soon, as adobe doesn't do the MIDI thang. Have spent all day switching between Adobe and Reason to do an assignment that needs both MIDI and audio

I get to listen to it whenever I drive the missus car, all it can recieve is 'doof-doof' music for some 'reason'
