The reviews on HC pretty much summ it up.
Its a great amp. The cleans are easy to work in, the high gain is there in bundles. Getting a crunchy marshall type rhythm going takes a little time. And you really need an extension box to really get the floor vibrating. Lots of buttons and knobs, most of which did nothing to the sound according to my ears.

For all that, i wish i hadnt sold mine. I'd love to have it back.
The short combo with the EV speaker is the best one. Or a head on top of a recto quad.

As philip said they're a good amp and were/are used a lot in recording studios overseas.Load of knobs and dials and also come with a 4 mode footcontroller that has EQ and Effects loop switching also............wouldn't use it without this myself.
Doin' that scrapyard thing.

Mark IV is amazing!! as most of other Mesa, you have to be very paintent to dail some killer tone, it's a killer rock/ metal amp IMO, I don't play blues stuff, it should handle it very well. Bass is super tight. with mix of 6L6/El34 in power amp section, you can get as much tone as you wish. Amazing.

only two amp will made me mad and throw my Mesa Rectifier out of window. They are ENGL Powerball and Mark IV !! Buy it if you can.

These are kick ass amps. I've got a mate who uses one, it's pretty smooth. Like others have said, you can take a while to dial in a tone, but when you get one, it's mint.

I note it didn't seem to like single coils as much as humbuckers though. His LP got a better tone than his Tele out of it.
