The Kemper Thread
Did we already have a dedicated Kemper thread? Thought we did but couldn't find it. Perhaps we should.
Anyway, I see there's now a powered cabinet:
https://www.kemper-amps.com/kabinet-kone
Control 'panel' looks a bit naff.

Re: The Kemper Thread
I'm up for this thread.
I noticed this in the cabinet description: "The KEMPER Kone speaker is also available as a replacement speaker for existing guitar cabinets. The KEMPER Kone is available as a single unit and 2 and 4 speaker sets for 2 x 12“ and even 4 x 12“ guitar cabinets. Requests from third party cabinet manufacturers are welcome."
Maybe BG could make official relic Kemper cabinets???

Re: The Kemper Thread
I think the powered cabinet will be about $1,000 NZ - ish. Not enough to tempt me from my 'Jim & Joe' setup but it compares well to the likes of the Friedman wedge thing.

Re: The Kemper Thread
I'm not sure sorry - some say they are - some say they aren't. I haven't had the kemper Kone to compare.

Re: The Kemper Thread
Yaaay! I'm surprised this has not been created before, actually. In fact, aren't there quite a few Fractal Audio users on the forums too?
Is this the same as the unpowered Kabinet, where you have to use Direct Mix profiles? That's kinda how I understood it... not sure if it's correct.
That's quite far from general consensus. Views are quite varied out there. Would love to compare them in person.

Re: The Kemper Thread
If I had a Kemper I'd find one tone I like and leave it there. Which is why I don't have a Kemper.

Re: The Kemper Thread
Me too. Even after hours of trying to dial in a modeller for a fender clean and a Marshall dirty, the tonal shift between the two is just weird. give me a breaking up Marshall tone, a volume knob, a hotcake and an analog-ish delay please!

Re: The Kemper Thread
The other thing that I don't get with Kempers is all the shit with buying 'tone packs' every time I see one for sale it mentions it comes with $500 worth of custom sounds programmed by some YouTuber. Fuck, a Kemper is like 3+K, should you have to buy extra stuff to get a sound you like!????!!

Re: The Kemper Thread
No, I want to chime in, without ever having played a note on a Kemper, and then describe why it doesn't work for me.
Isn't that how society works these days?
