A set would probably cost more than an Asian made amp though.jeremyb wrote: ↑Fri Mar 25, 2022 10:48 pm Good news! https://guitar.com/features/interviews/ ... ry-crisis/

Re: Get at them tubes..
The cheap asian amps like the cub I have coming are often let down by their speaker and tubes so to me its worthwhile upgrading them, you still end up with a cheaper amp than buying the original its a copy of and it should sound as good or bettergodgrinder wrote: ↑Sat Mar 26, 2022 2:27 amA set would probably cost more than an Asian made amp though.jeremyb wrote: ↑Fri Mar 25, 2022 10:48 pm Good news! https://guitar.com/features/interviews/ ... ry-crisis/

And components and transformers.
I’m just slightly amused by the collective enthusiasm I saw in the last few days on new WE production, since most guitar players probably find Gold Lion too expensive already and this would likely cost even more haha.

Re: Get at them tubes..
Transformer and speaker upgrades always yield more significant improvements than tubes in new amps . I think most people who write about their tube upgrade being super positive are probably in that confirmation bias stage.

Re: Get at them tubes..
Transformer upgrade, speaker upgrade, tube upgrade, cabinet upgrade…
Sounds like an amp upgrade is easier than all that? (Mind you I changed the speaker in the Vox to the red coat, and absolutely adore the results. I should just shut up)
