Like I said. These the phone/laptop of the amp world.
I don't have any objection to them in principle but i think it's good to hash out where they sit in our little world of gear malarkey.
I'm a total fender fan, and the stuff the do (or have done) well is epic.
Almost all of what they do en masse now is pretty average so my oretest probability test for the tonemasters is already coloured with this opinion.
Weight issue is easily solved with a neo loaded cab and a head but if combo is your thing then yes this works well for that.
They're an excellent $500 amp. Highly recommended at that price.
I thought they were over $2k?
They are. I'm just establishing an actual value profile.

That's the thing though - for the same money you can get a faithful tube-driven clone, handwired by MikeC.

The Tonemaster Deluxe Reverb is $2600 NZD which is absurd but only makes sense if you compare it to the valve Deluxe Reverb ($4200!!!!!!!!)

However - USA retail is $950 USD which is under $1500 NZD - that's way more like it.

Well, my main gigging amp now I've had since Ryan built it for me in 2016.
Prior to that I used my vox ac15 which I got in 2013(ish).
Vox exploded once on stage mind...

Not you :D

But I do, regularly. I sold my Blues Deluxe after about 12 years or use, and I want it back haha.

Won't have that issue with a Tone Master.

Well it was a power surge from the crap socket at Portland public house. I'd say it would have fried anything. Was quite exciting

Then I refused ..... To play it and ended up with a ridiculous Gibson amp with unreachable controls on the back rear of the amp... Useful!

Why should the Tonemaster cost so much more than a Katana ?

Well, in a way, that's the one part that's easy to understand. It's aesthetic and marketing. Simple.
Same reason a Gucci handbag costs $5000 USD

I don't enjoy Katanas but at the price, brilliant pieces of kit.
