Marshall - The Story (BBC doco)

Post by MiniForklift »

I'll watch this later so apologies in advance if it's shit (not being in 1080p is already triggering me), but a quick skim through has it looking like it could be an informative and interesting documentary. Thought it deserved it's own thread as it will probably get lost pretty quickly in the YT one

Tube amp and guitar tones straight from 1958… amazing how believable the sounds were back then, even without the modellers...

It auto-played after a youtube vid I was watching, wasn't expecting it but decided to give it a watch, it is pretty decent.

I always find it funny that people see the JCM 800 as a singular amp when they are actually referring to a particular model number i.e. the 2203 in the JCM 800 series of amps.

Is this the same as the Made InnDageham documentary on Vox?

If not it’s worth seeking out that one as well

This is why I’m happy I have a habit of saving interesting music documentaries on my local drives.

Same! Good to be able to watch it when it suits, plus I don’t get constantly interrupted by YT ads
