I've collected one of the blue 30th anniversary Marshall 100w combos (the 6101) from a family whom i'm helping out selling their deceased son's gear. This amp looks like it has sat unused for some years. It's a bit grubby, it has noisy pots, and the sound is a bit crap even for a Marshall (I joke).
Who should I get in touch with to give it a check out/sort out?
Or if anyone wants what will be a cracker of an amp once sorted, and will take on the fix themselves, hit me up with an offer to take back to the family.
Thanks in advance
Stephen

You could try CB Electronics in Pokeno? I believe he will even pick up from Auckland.

He took 12 weeks to get my mates amp back to him after promising to fix it in 2. My mate had to call his wife to actually get an answer from someone as Christian stopped answering his phone or his emails. Then he 'fixed' an issue that wasn't ever an issue and returned a broken amp that blew a fuse when my mate plugged it in. He's since taken it to another guy whose name I will track down. The first thing he said was "did Christian work on this?"
Maybe you got lucky, in my eyes he's a hack.

wowwee. interesting. I've only had him calibrate my Deluxe Memory Man, he's done a good job on that. Might be that valve stuff is not really his area of expertise?

From what I heard he used to service amps for rockshop so I doubt it's that, I think he's in over his head when it comes to running an actual business.rickenbackerkid wrote: ↑Sat Nov 25, 2023 4:33 pm wowwee. interesting.
