Re: Making an LB30 into a b15(esque) bass amp
Beyond a critical point within a finite space, freedom diminishes as numbers increase. This is as true of humans as it is of gas molecules in a sealed flask. The human question is not how many can possibly survive within the system, but what kind of existence is possible for those who so survive.

Wooden side panels like an old synth? or put plugs in them and put rivnuts in the bottom of the chassis?StrummersOfThunder wrote: ↑Sun Jan 28, 2024 6:20 am Next part of the project will be to make a dark stained wood base for the amp to sit on.
Will need a bit of thought about how to put mounting blocks on this so the side screw holes can be used to affix the chassis to the block

I think that’s what I’ll do but if I stick with the current cab it would over hang which I can toleratejeremyb wrote: ↑Sun Jan 28, 2024 10:09 amWooden side panels like an old synth? or put plugs in them and put rivnuts in the bottom of the chassis?StrummersOfThunder wrote: ↑Sun Jan 28, 2024 6:20 am Next part of the project will be to make a dark stained wood base for the amp to sit on.

The amped ones just have a base plinth

Re: Making an LB30 into a b15(esque) bass amp
I scored this ampeg 15" portaflex cab yesterday
Its unported with a horn
Sounds sublime with this little amp. Bit more mid range punch than the little ashdown and much laouder
I was worried it would be too boomy for home use but it isnt at all
Has that 'ampeg' sound
Would love to one day find (?build) a b15n....
