Got a '65 BFSR years ago from a mate of mine, had to get the caps done, put in a new fibreglass board as the old cardboard ones bend out of shape and cause static leakage, plus a new set of speakers, the CTS and Oxfords they used back in the day aren't much chop imo.
It's very tuneful, however cranked it gets darker and not to my liking, but as has been said here on the edge of breakup it sounds great, BUT THAT'S LOUD, use a tube screamer or similar out front.
Compared to the DR and PR it's a monster combo, so if you're looking for an overdriven sound stick with those two.
Doin' that scrapyard thing.

I got a 1966 PR out of North Carolina around 10 years ago. In mint condition with a Weber 10F150T which sounds amazing.

1970 Princeton sits below.

I’m sure I’ve mentioned before, in the early ‘80s I used to run. ‘65 BF Twin Reverb…. Because it was the only one I could afford!

Beautiful amp. Early ‘70s Strat into MXR distortion+ and weirdly enough, an MXR Pitch Transposer used mostly as the most expensive rack mount chorus ever!
Unbelievably lush sound.
Sadly stolen from a flat around ‘83 or ‘84.

Would love all that rig again.

i tend to run at 8 ohms to tame it down a bit through either a Celestion Ruby or an Emi C Rex
