I feel like I'm letting the forum down with such a short list, considering I've been playing for 35 years.

Re: Amplification Journeys
So your list above started in 1990? Well, even 1996, that's a rather compact list

Re: Amplification Journeys
Yeah it's not crazy - and to be fair when I started listing them out I thought it was going to be even shorter than that, but I kept remembering amps that I'd forgotten I'd owned.

I had to edit my list a couple of times when I remembered more.
Well, given your tenure on the forum, you have shown remarkable constrain! Bravo!

Re: Amplification Journeys
My timeline started around the same time as yours and I didn't end up playing a Recto until the early 00's. I've owned a Rectoverb and Single Rec, and I can honestly say they sounded light years ahead of the Dual Rec I borrowed from a band mate back then. The 'verb in particular didn't have that compressed fizz that the amps are know for, actually felt more like an old Mark-series with a dash of DSL.murky wrote: ↑Wed Sep 04, 2024 10:46 am
Edit: I feel it’s worth noting the complete absence of Mesa Rectifier from the list. To this day, I still haven’t played one. No mean feat in the late 90’s/early 2000’s, and probably top 3 life achievements that I’m proud of. I also hold the Mesa Rectifier wholly responsible for everything bad that happened to Shihad after the fish album.
You've also reminded me I need to revisit the Fish album which is my favourite Shihad release.

Give a man a fish and you feed him for a day. Teach a man to fish and he'll spend thousands on fishing equipment he'll use for a bit, then get bored and move onto something else.

Here I thought hamo's record was impressive... yours is mindblowing, considering the numbers of years covered by that list!Danger Mouse wrote: ↑Wed Sep 04, 2024 10:34 am Ross RG10

There is a character count limit of something like 60,000 on a post so I imagine he'll need to use multiple posts!
