there was an early 90s blondie/oxblood on TM last year - went far about $1600, which I thought was about right.

They're a little different than the CVRs in that the trem only works on one channel (wouldn't worry me) and IIRC they have Oxford spkrs - the CVRs have Eminences later models have Jensens (which are a little brighter). There may be other circuit differences too.

The CVRs do tend to be a bit noisy, but there are a lot of fixes for that.
this one's special, this is the ultimate, after this i'll never need another amp, EVER...Image

I use a CVR, once I did some of the mods it has proved to be a good workhorse over the last few years. There are times when a Twin would be better, but hey, my back is not what it used to be...

I have a blonde, early 90s CVR I'm looking to move on. First year of issue, with the eminence alnicos. Fantastic amp. It ain't it's fault that it isn't a Victoria double deluxe...

Are those the Eminence Red Fang? How do they sound in that amp and how did they compare to the previous speakers?

Thanks,

Rob

If theyre the original speakers then theyll be the blue Eminence replicas of the Jensen P10 Alnico.

It's in very good condition for it's age. No rips in the tolex. One small rip in the grill, though I may either repair that or replace it. Mine has the negative feedback loop mod, which is great for adding clean headroom if you need it. I had it made switchable, so you can choose either stock or with loop. Newish JJ 6l6s installed by Clarry at 34 audio and a beautiful sounding ($70 dollar) GT mullard 12ax7 reissue in the bright channel's preamp slot.

The last blonde CVR went on trademe for just shy of 1800, so I'm looking at offers around that mark...
