Thanks for the offer, but I think I'll likely play around with the NFB resistor if this doesn't have enough of a desired effectIMOCD wrote: ↑Wed May 15, 2024 2:54 pm5751's all the way for me, and thanks to MikeC, I have a few to tide me over. Not sure if you'll see much difference in headroom tbh, for that I'd have thought you'd need to venture into the 12at, 12au or 12ay realm. I'm sure I have some kicking around if you wanted to try.

Going back to 5751’s, they’re a magic tube in the right position. I’ve cooled down many a hot headed amp with these, and not just in preamp - phase inverters also.

So apparently the Monoprice 5W is the same amp under a different name, its all surface mount bullshit but I have seen people who have added a NFB pot wired to the pads where the NFB resistor is... R13 I believe on the schematic.

Would have thought it was R22?

Likewise, R8 appears to ensure there is always a load on the OT.TmcB wrote: ↑Thu May 16, 2024 4:13 pmWould have thought it was R22?

Oh yes maybe R8, I have vague recollections of it being 220 something something ohms

Re: Forums have been slow, how about a 'In the mail' thread?
Got a Furch OM coming on Friday. I'm back in the UK for a funeral and was looking around for a smaller bodied acoustic and read up on Furch. It's a $3k guitar in NZ new but I found a lightly used one for $1400 here, cased and shipped. I've heard great things about the brand in general and here's a cool bonus: when I purchased the guitar I got another email from some Forest Alliance place saying I could plant 2 trees, so I planted 2 trees at a reserve in Tanzania.
Nice work, Furch. Will let you know how it goes.
