Re: Find me a Strat thread
Rob, would it be a help if all of us (those who have Strats or clones) who attend the Welly gfest brought ours along, so you could have a play and gain a better idea of what's around? If I can make it, I'm quite happy to bring mine down for you to have a blast on, although you will not like the strings.

Re: Find me a Strat thread
I very seriously recommend you check out a Cole Clark.
Around the 2K mark from RS, Matt will give you a great deal, 2 point Wilkinson trem, 9' radius I think, excellent pickups, ect, ect, ect. everyone who has played either of mine has loved them. They also do a semi-hollow which looks cool.

Ha, I was going to suggest that as a subtle (or not) plug for my own listing. But of course it's routed for humbuckers. Though I guess it wouldn't be difficult to rout the middle and fit 3 single coils. But then there's no trem either.

I think it's a 'Deluxe FSR '62 FMT. No idea what the FSR stands for, but here's some reviews:

Not a 2 point trem though.
FMT is probably "Flame Maple Top". In other words, a bloody expensive slice of veneer on an otherwise vintage 62 Strat.
$2k should put you in range of an American Deluxe series. 2 point trem, flatter radius and even the sparkly Paua shell dots!

Re: Find me a Strat thread
I don't know why - the SPR is held in high regard by many of those weird people who like change pups on their guitars all the time. It allows for any configuration you can think of. I know one bloke who has 4 different scratchplates -loaded with variations of single coils, pafs and buckers. The SPR allows him to basically change his guitar for a gig without having to change his guitar. He only has his Strat, but it does everything for him. He loves it and really, its a pretty damn cool and cost-effective way of doing it.
