I tried this American Deluxe Ash Tele at the rockshop a week or two ago and I'm really gassing for one now
Tried it next to a deluxe strat with hot rails (or similar...might of been a dimarzio tone zone) and it blew it away in terms of tones I liked (although I think it was more just not a worthy strat despite the $4k price tag on it).
I was really blown away by how good the pickups in series sounded too (S1 switching?)

I'm right there with you on this.
I'm probably a lot earlier on the gear "road" than most people here, and when I got my Gibson SG special, I thought that would put to rest my desire for a really decent guitar (I was using an Epi Les Paul and Mexican Strat before).
But all it's made me do is to think, "Right... got a decent gat with humbuckers... next on the list, an American Tele."

I'm convinced the only cure is death.
Beyond a critical point within a finite space, freedom diminishes as numbers increase. This is as true of humans as it is of gas molecules in a sealed flask. The human question is not how many can possibly survive within the system, but what kind of existence is possible for those who so survive.

would've been a straight 6 Blue Flame in its day. (same as the first Corvettes) This one's a 350cube SB in front of a frustrating 3 spd Muncie.... I coule live with it. Really.
Hurdy Gurdy.... some how... and I'm not entirely certain how mind you, an instrument that sounds like someone has shoved a nest of angry hornets into a goose with a kazoo bill and is randomly slapping the poor creature with an accordion.... Sounds amazing.
I was thinking about how cool the Line 6 M5 was... (well... for a line 6 product) until I found out it doesn't have any pitch shifting presets. No longer G.A.S-Worthy!
