Re: Brian May Rig Rundown
There's a guy in Italy, "CQuadro" who has been making quite a lot of them and very well, by the look of it. He even made a Tele/Red hybrid for Brian May. Just this week he's been forced to stop in the middle of a batch of about ten. Suspected legal wrangles.

I love Queen and really enjoying my Catalinbread Galileo pedal. Its nails the Queen sound.
Re: Brian May Rig Rundown
AC30 & Treble booster seems like a winning combination, did he get that off Rory by any chance?
Never been a huge fan of Queen, but always a fan of a guitarist who sticks to pretty much one or two guitars their whole career.

Re: Brian May Rig Rundown
Yeah he went to a RG concert when he was young and was like "how do you get your sound mister?" Rory said cranked AC30 and treble booster, Brian's even gone on record saying RG is largely responsible for the foundation of his soundBradman wrote:AC30 & Treble booster seems like a winning combination, did he get that off Rory by any chance?

Re: Brian May Rig Rundown
what's the bet now that it is widely known that the amps are modded, we see BM Vox AC30s released where we pay more to have the same bits removed (unless it has already happened of course).

It has. One knob only and very expensive IIRC.Aquila Rosso wrote:what's the bet now that it is widely known that the amps are modded, we see BM Vox AC30s released where we pay more to have the same bits removed (unless it has already happened of course).
Beyond a critical point within a finite space, freedom diminishes as numbers increase. This is as true of humans as it is of gas molecules in a sealed flask. The human question is not how many can possibly survive within the system, but what kind of existence is possible for those who so survive.

On clearance at $2400... I have one sitting in the amp room at work, and it's awesome.slowfingers wrote:It has. Re: Brian May Rig Rundown
So just how much versatility has it got? I presume it's designed to be run flat out? Does its character change/remain when you turn it down?Polar Bear wrote:On clearance at $2400... Does it have the Rangemaster built in?

Because I work in retail and I have an amazing AC30 already... Also, it's sitting in the amp room at work.slash-ed wrote:Why isn't it sitting IN YOUR HOUSE? Srsly
Not sure why too many people would buy a Brian May signature AC30 looking for versatility, but you can switch it to 15w so that it is only pant wettingly loud, as opposed to shittingly loud, and you can turn the Rangemaster off too if you want. Also, it won't be a Rangemaster, as Vox made a very good treble booster circuit for the VBM1. The man himself hasn't used an actual Rangemaster since '76.slowfingers wrote:So just how much versatility has it got? I presume it's designed to be run flat out?
