What part of the Gibson range don't you like ? Why ? Thier Acoustics are amazing compared to the fender range. Can you imagine Elvis holding a DG15 in those black and white shots ? No. The J200 is an Icon.DrRog wrote:LOL - well if Gibson started to make real guitars for a change...
Can you see Robert Johnson hold a Stratocoustic ....no . In fact what guitars do fender make that are not kitset bolt together by unskilled labour in foriegn countries ?

LOL - I don't really dislike Gibbys at all - I just enjoy yanking BG's chain, as he does mine.... don't take such comments seriously, please.
Actually, I've had a couple of Gibbys, but have never kept them. I've thought recently about getting another but really, for the work I do, my Strat does all I need and I'd rather spend what little money I have on other endeavours.
If I had to answer seriously which part of the Gibby range I didn't like, it would have to be their bass range and their amplifiers. I've played many and not liked any. That doesn't mean I think they're total crap - all it means is we don't fit together.
As far as acoustics, well me & acoustics just don't go together, so I can't comment on them. I've never played a single acoustic I've enjoyed, including Martins, Taylors, Gibbys, Fenders, Takamine etc

LOL - try posting THAT on the FDP - can you see the response? It'd be hilarious!

you're right of course, I should bow down to your greater wisdom, and respect your opinion as you are sooooo much older than anyone else here
On the other hand, headstocks are a waste of space and serve no useful function :p

Good, I'm glad you young whippersnappers know to respect your elders... LOL
As far as headstocks serving no purpose - neither do so many things, such as politicians, but it seems we have to have them...
Come to think of it, is a triangle is the most stable shape, why do we need 4 wheels on cars? Fancy a Reliant?
Get back down - did I say you could stop bowing????

Reputedly, one of the reasons CBS-Fender went to the bigger headstock was to make more 'billboard' space for the Fender logo.....
Very bigheaded of them!
