When do you realize it's not the gear that's sh!t
Touching as your concern is, my advice is to stop hoping.
I'll only let you down.
I'll only let you down.

So how does it feel Rhett, to be the most thread inspiring person on the forum?
Not only do you create many of your own, but others create threads about you too!

Oh don't you worry, it's also so that hopefully others will avoid making the same dumb mistakesPastasauce wrote:Touching as your concern is, my advice is to stop hoping.

Disconcerting. Trust me, in real life I'm entirely inoffensive.aliasceiza wrote:So how does it feel Rhett, to be the most thread inspiring person on the forum?

I think it's less about the offense, and more about the amusement. One thing I have to say Rhett, is that you never get too down about it for too long. You may be a little mad when it comes to gear, but it's the happy kinda mad versus the good-kicking sort.Pastasauce wrote:Disconcerting. Well, thanks. . I'm happy if people are laughing, even if its at me.
And it's cool if Ed wants to continue preaching his message that those of us who enjoy the GAS should be excluded, puritanical as is may seem to me. I get it, traditional guitar values run deep.
All I can say is that no one is going to force him to mod a JCM 800. His relationship with his guitar will not be effected by me choosing to enjoy the guitar hobby in the way I do.
He can plug his lead into the amps that make him happy and I'll plug mine into the amps that make me happy.
The world is big enough for all of us.

Excluded? I'm not trying to exclude anyone.
If anything, I've bought and sold more than things than many on here ever will, so I'm just as guilty of suffering from GAS.
I'm just saying, a) don't GAS stupidly/blindly, and b) learn how to play, you'll like your tone more on whatever piece of gear you decide to buy.
Also, no amps seem to make you happy, which is kinda the problem and why I suggested that you attempt to make yourself happier with your inherent finger tone as well.
I know you're just smugly ignoring everything I say on principle at the moment... but perhaps you should do something that may not come naturally to you - open your mind

So you're saying you empathise with my struggle, and you've struggled too?slash-ed wrote:Preacher... you're missing the point.Pastasauce wrote:Well, thanks. . I'm happy if people are laughing, even if its at me.

And that maybe if I just try it your way I'll like it?
But what if I was just born like this? What if it makes me happy?
Can't you just accept me?
Can't you, Ed?

When you have mastered making a Mesa sound good, only then can you bath in the tone of the chosen Grasshopper.
