Re: The Pedal Movie
That was a really great watch... I'm not big into pedals but I do want a nice overdrive and fuzz now
Tube amp and guitar tones straight from 1958… amazing how believable the sounds were back then, even without the modellers...

Re: The Pedal Movie
Half way into it, really enjoyed the history of effects up to this stage. J Mascis nails the whole 'transparent' effects thing for me - so why bother turning it on?
Oh and seeing the old 'Electronics Projects for Musicians' book - I remember borrowing that from the library - it came with a 'flexidisk', a thin plastic vinyl record you put on top of another record and played in the usual way. My mate at the time was building a ring modulator from the book. It sounded like shit He made the preamp from the book too, that wasn't too bad....

So, is that low alcohol or no alcohol at all? mmmm, no alcohol, do you want to try it? Noooooooooo.

I tried to make a Wah from that book or a similar one back in the day, was probably around 1989/90, when I turned it on it picked up the local radio station and no wahhing happened

Re: The Pedal Movie
When I was an electronics apprentice in the late 80's a few mates and I made quite a few pedals and effects, now I wish we had carried on and made it into a business, would have been much more fun than IT I reckon.

Amusingly I’ve not actually watched it yet myself

Me neither, but as soon as he spoke the accent caught my ear vs all of the others!
No one ever died of hard work.. but why take the risk..
