Got a show coming up next week at Meow in Wellington, playing some dark synth pop stuff with Radar Angel.
Physical keyboards on stage :
Moog Sub 37
Korg Polysix (kiwimod)
Arturia Keylab 61 mk2

VSTs involved :
Korg Wavestation (patches imported from my rackmount)
Korg Polysix (lol - always good to have multiple polysix tracks)
Korg MS20 (would rather bring my hardware, but patch changes are a bitch)
Dexed
Arturia - CS-80, Piano, Arp2600, Matrix-12, Farfisa, Mellotron, B-3

Nice selection of sounds for the night.

Huge fan of a lot of songs made on the Fairlight CMI, had no idea the T2 score was created on one!

My latest toy arrived yesterday, a very old and smelly Roland SH-1
Needs a bit of TLC - only real issue is that all the notes never trigger "off". Liking it a lot already though :D

I purchased the whole Samples from Mars catalog a few years back with Synth/Dark Disco dreams. I have made an underwhelming use of it so far…
I keep meaning to get the Linn samples onto my TD-17KVX but even COVID lockdown didn’t get that to happen…

Fixed the issue on the SH-1 - the "hold" fader for the VCA had disconnected. Re-soldered and that's working good now! Also repaired a couple of broken screw holes so now it's feeling a lot sturdier.

Next step is sorting out the tuning as it's pretty bad at the moment. Found a service manual online and am looking forward to getting the oscilloscope out and going through step by step: https://www.synthxl.com/wp-content/uplo ... -Notes.pdf

Vital VST just got updated to 1.5.3 (early access)

Vital is a money-free (involves registration) software wavetable synth (like Serum). It's been my main software synth ever since it was launched as it covers so much ground in terms of sound design.

Been looking at these since you posted. Both the Nano synths are pretty good but the lemon drop takes the cake imo... some of the atmospheres and drones this thing creates are brilliant. I can only imagine adding effects would flip this in such a good way also (verbs etc)

How stunning is the OB-X8... 🤯 My excitement was uncontrollable when I heard they were re-releasing it. The exchange rate makes it hard to obtain but...I'm seriously thinking about it:
