I think the Kemper shines at awesome amp tones, also speakers, mics, IRs etc. the effects are also decent, and still improving. But they are not Strymon good.

I wish the tone exchange stuff was as easy with a Kemper as it is with Line6. If you want shoegaze tones or classic hits tones, all ready to go, buy a different platform.

On the positive side, you get to keep your pedalboard with a Kemper as it is totally justifiable ;-)

I really like my Kemper

On this excellent note, if anyone has a Kemper they'd be willing to lend me in exchange for guitars/amps/pedals of their choice, I'd owe them for ever.

The length between my next two trips to Auckland. Could probably say a fortnight if I timed it right.

Mine’s for sale on TradeMe so I wouldn’t miss it if you wanted to borrow it. I’ll have to get it back quickly if it sells though.

Oh that might be more convenient all round. I'll maybe wait til your auction ends though. Have a think if you want to borrow anything in exchange (335, CS Strat, Taylor CS Acoustic, handwired amps of the DR / Tweed / Plexi variety).

I like the way you just casually assume it won't sell. :P

If you do, you can have my Austin Buddy Dream Rigs pack. They sounded fantastic. Also, the AX8 is a physically formidable unit. Made me seriously doubt the giggability of the Kemper Stage when I first held it in my hands. Then again, oodles of professionals use it in gigs.

I preferred the sound of my FM3 through poweramp and cab but not as much through FOH.
Kemper is the other way around for me, prefer through FOH but not so much through cab. IRs are important.. my faves are York Audio.
Surely Niks rig is cool enough to give you a fair idea how fantastic Fractal is

I've worked hard to like AxeFX, mostly due to the hype. Over the last 10 years I've owned the AxeFX2. AxeFX3. and the FM3. All whilst also owning kempers. I could never get the Fractal stuff to sound as good through FOH as the Kemper. But I should note my tones vary from low gain (almost clean) to crunch, so not high gain. Think Andy Timmons' lead tone as likely the highest gain I'd use. I suspect the Fractal stuff does chuggachugga better than the Kemper if that's what floats your boat.
