Hmmmmm. Maybe not.
Well, no... In my field of work, I *am* one of "the little guys". A heap of friends are also "little guys". And I can honestly say that people who do shitty work and get all snotty about stuff can drive potential customers into the arms of bigger companies. That's logic. So no, no sympathy from me. All the smaller businesses can offer, really, is superior quality and customer service and if you can't deliver on that, what's left?Edward wrote:Tis all about personal reactions, not logic. If you have ever been the little guy, or your good friends were the little guys, then you might identify with the little guy.
That's it in a nutshell. I don't get the idea that the little guy should get a free pass for what, merely being the little guy? Absolute bullshit. It's business, not charity. The little guy is getting the gift of business that would otherwise go to a big guy, so if he doesn't deliver and doesn't adequately communicate any problems to people whose money he has up front, then let the chips fall where they may. A person's reputation is theirs to squander or protect like it's gold. Little guys who do a good job in all areas of business increase their chances of going on to become big guys. It's called competition, and if the little guy fails, he doesn't deserve to be a big guy.Vince wrote:Well, no... In my field of work, I *am* one of "the little guys". And a deal is a deal. You get money, you send the product. If you can't, you explain why and offer a refund. Not exactly rocket science.

Journhole wins.
I'm not sure the youth demographic is represented on here any more. They've moved on from forums and facebook, its all about <140 characters and snapchat now.... or yesterday anyway.Capt. Black wrote:Yeah, come on Ross, you're the youth demographic.
Honestly, everyone gets that you think that what I did was a bad idea - how about you give it a bit of a rest?Capt. Black wrote:Yeah, come on Ross, you're the youth demographic. You know that what's behind the forum doors isn't gonna show up in the google searches the way a bad review on a public blog does.
