Best Tele bridge pickup?

Post by MogwaiBoy »

Thinking of swaping out the stock bridge PU on my Aerodyne Tele... Any suggestions? I'm thinking something fairly high output, "noiseless", or even make it a right rock beast with a decent humbucker (single coil size).

The Aerodyne is one of these:

Happy with the P90 on the neck but the bridge is a bit flat (albiet smoother) sounding compared to your usual tele twang. Wanna go something with more balls!

+1.

I have one in my Thinline Tele. Coil tapped, it does a decent twang and in full HB mode, it puts most other HB's to shame. One of the nicest crunch tones with medium gain I have ever "past participle of get" out of a guitar, thought I believe the hollowbody might have soemthing to do with that as well.

Either way, I'm with Stuu.

It's also more versatile than a Hot Rails.

Thanks brothers! I'm reading very good stuff about these SD Lil 59s. Sounds exactly like what I'm after.

Now to find a stockist :)

Hello, your local friendly SD Lil'59 stockist here. :D

I tried posting three times without luck, so hopefully this gets through...

I put the Lil'59s in Stuu and SC's teles and I agree, it sounds like just the thing for you.

There are similar things from DiMarzio and Rio Grande, but I'm not going to write them all out again just to have another posting-fail.
