Patience children. I'm just interested in getting peoples unbiased opinions of which they like better without being influenced by which they think SHOULD sound better.

I think the second clip is the Bareknuckles. To me, they sound full and clear, which is precisely my experience with the Bareknuckles in my Strat. The first set sounds a bit thinner and doesn't quite have the same top end sparkle, for want of a less overused word.

Bearing in mind I'm listening to the neck pickup mostly, I prefer the second clip. The first clip sounds very bright and trebly and almost like it has more output (not a bad thing) but the second clip just has a sweet warmth that I like to hear in the neck.
I wouldn't have a clue which is which though.

I agree with Scooter. The first clip sounds hotter and brighter. The second one has the clarity and more rounded sound. Will be interesting if it ends up being the Dimarzio

I'd like to listen but too many strange looks would be had from others in my office. My 62 reissue has something called Dimarzio Collection, little info out there on these. I'm guessing they'd be one of the 'area' versions, the 1st & 2nd poles are flush with the bobbins - like even below the top face of pup cover, other poles are much higher & staggered the 3rd pole being the highest. They aren't high output but some really interesting(good) things happen when I dig in hard on the strings.

Yes well this is also an important consideration - the fact that even if the Strat doesn't make any noise, I won't be using it much in that venue under those lights anyway, because it's just not the right sound for the kind of stuff we do. However there's little point dragging it along as a back up guitar if I can't use it at all.*UNIQUE* wrote:I know the feelingmr_sooty wrote: the Strat is just unusable.
