Need Help with Wiring of LP

Hi all,

My Tokai is getting its original pickups back in. The thing is that it has two wires and because they're not colour coded I dunno why they should go...

The SDs have colour coded and 4 wires....I understand the SD after looking at it but I'm so confused on the originals...

Any help would be greatly appreciated

Two wires like a single coil pickup? One wire is ground, one is hot.

Just do that
or pick to suit..

Hi thanks mate,

The problem is that I dont know which wire is which...

Theres a white one and a black one...black is a bit thicker...

Ah, I read not colour coded as "both same colour". If you've got a white wire, I think that's most likely the hot wire. At least it is on my SD vintage strat pickup.

my hunch would be the same - the thicker wire (black) is also kinda more likely to be dirt.

that said - ash, may be the man to ask?

I swapped out the humbuckers from my cheapo AcePro LP copy, 2 weeks ago and

white = hot, black = ground.

Indeed, white is almost invariably the hot wire, black goes to earth...

Cheers guys. Now I know the wiring. I didnt think my soldering was up to standard...

So I gave it to the shop to do it....
