I got an MIM Fender Strata few weeks ago. It's a 2005 model but was never played. Still had the plastic on it etc.
I don't know anything about strats but after looking at some strats in a store today, I notice the pickups on mine seem to be different to all the ones I looked at.
All three pups are exactly the same. Is this normal to have those points on the pups at different heights?

Found the answer thanks to a person on another forum (does that make me disloyal to NZG? ).
"... the polepieces are staggered in height to balance the loudness of the strings. Your's matches the older style so-called "vintage" staggering that was originally design to compensate a string set with a wound third (G string)."
