Nope, nothing like! McTell's stuff is a lot easier than this. Though there are more similarities if you take LB's earlier guitar work, such as Landslide or Never Going Back Again.codedog wrote:Wow... crazy stuff. I don't know how comparable they are but I get the same wow feeling when I saw Ralph McTell stuff too. Actually, now that I think of it probably doesn't compare in terms of complexity and speed.olegmcnoleg wrote:Indeed it is... I think you need to take a lot of speed to play that fast. Hugely impressive. I used to play this live, with the bass player singing...by the time I'd finished I'd need new strings, new nails and a lie down. He makes it look so effortless.null_pointer wrote:Someone posted this before I think, but LB still blows me away as a guitarist who sings. Playing this is a feat in itself, singing at the same time?

I do like Nuno's playing. Nice cameo by Zak Wilde taking some side of stage vidssty wrote:

Give a man a fish and you feed him for a day. Teach a man to fish and he'll spend thousands on fishing equipment he'll use for a bit, then get bored and move onto something else.

Re: YouTube goodness
For those who may not know, Louie Shelton was one of the top LA session players in the 60s and 70s, and his discography is a who's who of the music world. He was also Larry Carlton's mentor, helping LC get his foot in the door doing LA session work in the late 60s.
Here's Louie playing this fantastic, super tasty rhythm guitar part he played on the record in 1969, just in case you thought it was really Jermaine Jackson...
And here he is talking about the guitar part he played that got his studio career off the ground.
Louie has been living in Sydney since 1984. http://louieshelton.com/
