Anyone know this trick? I got it from a Brent Mason interview years ago. If you need sweet clean tones for a part, this is a go to solution. Doesn't work well with drive in my experience but one of my mainstay tools nonetheless.

Do try it!

In the effects loop or into the front of the amp?

To this day, I've never had an amp with an effects loop. Try both.

You run your amps fairly clean, so there wouldn't be much difference. With more gain, you'd get more effect by having the EQ pedal in front.

Interestingly, the new Origin Effects G-EQ drive pedal has 800Hz as one of 3 options for a frequency to boost.
