Aint it grand when the controls are simple (ZT & the 800), I find with an amp it happens quite quick finding what I like, then time passes & I wonder if I'm missing or overlooked other possibilities, start tweaking only to end up close to original setting but more aware of the other territory.
Forever tinkering with the ModTone delay getting a slapback thing going on, which I guess would change again in different acoustic environment, the room where I practice is big & has it's own natural reverb/echo - doesn't need much more modulation as is.
The balancing act of boost/gain addiction is always fun to feed.
Maybe it's a sign that alls well with the guitar part of the chain when the amp tunings get fettled.
...anyway just a slight escape from the tedium of workin' fo da man.
2024; I have explored the extent of the perimeter dome, there is no escape. I am become Morpheus

Works for me, anyway.
yeah perhaps I'm making it more complex than it needs to be
Well they (the mysterious "they") say that you have to love your own self before anyone else will love you.
So you have to love your own tone before anyone else will love hearing you play. Probably because if
you love your tone, you'll play with confidence and gusto.
The fact that the nuances of your tone are wasted on those who just wanna hear "some fuggin George Thorogood" is just a casualty of gigging.
I seriously believe that the average punter is more interested in the songs you play than in your finely-tuned tone. But you have to have that tone and the accompanying confidence and enthusiam in order to connect with them.
this one's special, this is the ultimate, after this i'll never need another amp, EVER... starkAM

I don't really tweak my tone, I just get used to it. I find it hard to be objective about tone, it always starts sounding to me like whatever tone I have in mind that i'd like it to sound like, even if I thought exactly the same settings sounded like something different yesterday.

Now ya getting all twilight zone..... how do you ya know everyone dont hear a different sound from the same amp. Like some people like a tone that some dont.. maybe we all like the same tone but our ears are different so we need a different input tone to get the"liked' tone to our brains.
This acid is a bit strong...I'll only take half next time.
Difference is an accident of birth and it should therefore never be the source of hatred or conflict
