Quote of the year contender! And a strong start too.
Great, I got the clap from Bruce. Worth it.
I'm just a naturally giving person.

Didn't know you two had that sort of relationship.

obviously, no religion.
I was brought up Catholic so it’s not religion

That's why I tend to play it at least once per set.
This is why I don't think I could ever do the covers band thing, having to play songs to appease people who don't actually like music.

I think the universe was well and truly telling you its time Bruce
Well you've got to have the skill set to be able to play at least 50 songs from beginning to end which is something surprisingly few guitar players can do.

Congratulations on your retirement Bruce! You need to find yourself some casual bluegrass pickers that are happy to play at the opening of a bottle of whiskey!

Yesterday I sat down and in a leisurely fashion, worked my way through a box of Cassels Lucky 6. It's an excellent selection of beers and as the afternoon wore on and I contemplated no longer playing cliche pop songs to pissed punters, a warm glow of contentment settled upon me.

Though it might have been the beer.

There's something very special about playing with others for the sheer joy of it, no pressure to gig. Traditional music lends itself well to that situation. The players working their way through a bottle of scotch only helps the proceedings.

I've played a bit of Bluegrass over the years and I have a love of Celtic as well. Some of my favourite musical memories are of jamming in these genres.

My other (now only) band is about the simple pleasures of jamming, writing and refining while enjoying good companionship at the end of the week.
While it lasts, it'll do nicely.

You've summed up my Wednesday nights quite nicely there, even down to the scotch.

Oh you don't have to play what people like. Just look at us !
You guys target the crowds who shout "play us something none of us know"
Wow, that’s my dream audience. Did not know it actually existed somewhere.
This is so weird to me. I’ve never known any other kind!

You also only gig once every 5 years or more....
