I'm hopeless with a slide. Started with brass, then in the vain hope that it was the slide's fault that I was so crappy, I bought a glass one.

I like the sound of the glass one better, but I still sound like somebody who can't really play slide.

Dude from the Living End played a kick ass slide solo with a bottle of beer. Had beer flying all over the show while he did it. Then he skulled it. Awesome.

Went to that show in Hamilton on Friday. That dude was something else!
What a kick arse band. I would not have realised how good they are from just hearing them on the radio.

I have two slides, one is brass
The other one is made of glass
The glass one is my favourite
The brass one... eh, I don't like it
Feels quite thick and heavy too
Glass is lighter and looks coo'

+1 what Timoes said. Just make sure they fit over your finger properly. Too loose they keep comin' off all the time. Too tight and your girlfriend will start complaining about your (fore)playing technique

I use this:

Well worth the effort to 'make' it. I've used a lot of different slides over the years but this sounds and plays better than all of 'em. 8)
