I started writing a blog today and posted a detailed walk through of how I write songs. I hope it's helpful for someone!

Songwriting blog
Good stuff Sam. There's some very useful thoughts in there. Particularly the parts about giving a song a decent gestation period and the finishing/pre-production process.

Hey Bob, some of the songs alluded to have music videos on youtube - our vids thus far are (in chronological order): Everywhere, Bullet for your gun, Call The Doctor, 15 Minutes, Down By The River.bobiron wrote:Thanks for the post Sam, very interesting. Do you have any links available for listening.

Re: Songwriting blog
Nicely worded Sam, a well-thought perspective on the songwriting process, something I've always struggled a little with in an organised fashion; I've usually gone down the avenue of sending a Youtube demo to bandmates a week or two before and asking them to add their 2c, which seems to work well enough for my purposes. Good to hear about the process start -> finish.

Re: Songwriting blog
New blog entry (not about songwriting), just about the realities of FB now that they've fucked with the formula.
