Have you played the Virtual Vintage 405 and 406 set? They have exactly what I think of as '50s tone. Noiseless or not doesn't particularly bother me, but it definitely takes nothing away from these pickups. It's an added bonus, if anything. They're fantastic sounding pickups.

I have an Area 61 neck and Area 67 middle in my Strat (largely due to Matt's recommendation) and I'm totally satisfied - they'll be in there as long as I own the guitar, I imagine.
