If I were to list my favourite ever solos, this and quite a few other Nuno solos would feature highly. Just a stonking sense of melody in pretty much everything he does.

Looks like there is one on trademe currently. Looks cool, probably prefer the natural raw look thou.

Years ago I played in a terrible rock-cabaret band. Our set-list included More Than Words (eurgh... sets my teeth on edge) and Get the Funk Out. Confess my solo wasn't quite the same as Nuno's. I just tapped a bunch of crap and so long as it was over in time for the bingo nobody seemed to mind.

Saw Extreme at Donnington. The sky was dark with the hail of piss bottles raining down on them. Saw them again in Liverpool some time later. Nuno had his leg in a brace / frame thing. Jumpers for goal posts.

Didn't this guy do the voice for Wallace in Wallace & Gromit?

For my tastes Nuno is kinda like Paul Gilbert, the dudes cool, guitar playing awesome, defo tips and tricks to learn, just not an overall fan of the music they end up in. At least nowadays. Still, ripper players.

I'd agree with that. There are no end of impressive guitar players but if the music itself doesn't do anything for you you're hardly likely to come back for a second listen. I find that within electric blues there's a similar thing where some 'virtuoso' player will cobble together lame-arse, cliche-ridden songs as a vehicle for his lead playing.

Really enjoyed Extreme back in the day though.

Haha it's hard to love the cheese that is Extreme.

But Nuno's playing is just something else for me. So melodic, yet technical, and percussive yet fluid.

Allegedly Pornograffiti was teh most returned album of all time - people bought it for More than Words and Hole Hearted but didn't wanna stick around for the hair metal :D

yeah thats been on there for a while now. Don't mind the red but given I got my last one for $300 there is no way I would pay that sort of $$ for one....I am cheap I know

I never actually liked Extreme and it was quite hard to explain why I had their albums, nestled in with all the thrash and death metal CDs, but I was happy to put up with the shit that carried those solos...

Was also at the Donnington Molly went to, Gary Cherone really is a massive bell end.
