Then sometimes I just turn on a bunch of pedals and make noise.
This is me also. Currently working on Goodnight my Angel and and Vivaldi's Concerto for Two Mandolins
My infinitely expanding challenge is Pachelbel's Canon. All I want to do is play it with expression and no bum notes but every time I try, I discover some new thing to include or some new phrasing. I never feel like I get any closer to nailing it.
Beyond a critical point within a finite space, freedom diminishes as numbers increase. This is as true of humans as it is of gas molecules in a sealed flask. The human question is not how many can possibly survive within the system, but what kind of existence is possible for those who so survive.

I aspire to be a better player, to learn theory, scales, etc.
To that end, I watch YouTube videos all the time...
When faced with quality, I recognise it every time.
