Oh you don't have to play what people like. Just look at us !
You guys target the crowds who shout "play us something none of us know"
Wow, that’s my dream audience. Did not know it actually existed somewhere.
It gets tough when they yell “play something you know “

It takes a lot of work to create a set list as truelly unfamiliar, polarising (unidirectionally), repelling and upsetting as we do.

I like to think of it as non consensual aural sets

Quote of the year contender! And a strong start too.
Beyond a critical point within a finite space, freedom diminishes as numbers increase. This is as true of humans as it is of gas molecules in a sealed flask. The human question is not how many can possibly survive within the system, but what kind of existence is possible for those who so survive.

My friend, I did that at the beginning of my youth. We've now got the relationship sorted to everyone's satisfaction. :D

In the working men's clubs of Northern England you'd get: "Play summut we liiiike. Play Simply the Best". You'd get the Crème Brûlée guy (for lovers of League of Gentlemen): "Is that a Fender Strat?" Being the bingo's support act. Lazy $%#$%#@ singer doing her makeup the entire time it took to unload and set up the gear. Taking turns being squashed in the back of the van. Bluffing The Final Countdown solo. Having to play More Than Words. Christ, it was all shit.

yeah but when it went right, it went right :) Well in the north east anyway ;) They loved the heavy stuff. You could get away with Saxon and Chic.
