Does it count if it says "Les Paul" on the headstock?

Looks great
Needs a new pickguard though, the gap isn't good. Aliexpress do them...
So, is that low alcohol or no alcohol at all? mmmm, no alcohol, do you want to try it? Noooooooooo.

Re: The Gibson Les Paul Model thread
My Les Paul had been in its case for a month or 2 in favour of my Tele, this thread has reversed that for the time being. Forgot how much I like a Les Paul through a Superlead! Some seriously nice LPs on this thread!

Re: The Gibson Les Paul Model thread
Here’s mine, 2017 traditional in heritage cherry burst. Was trying to find an arty pose for it like y’all do, but gave up. Bought this last year from that Hart fella who has 1001 guitars and wanted to get under a 1000 I think. Alerted to it via our own trademe madness thread, where everyone was deriding the clownburst. Thankfully all the derision meant I snagged it for $2650 which as far as I can tell seems a good deal these days?
Anyway, I love it, burstbuckers (according to spec sheet) sound fantastic to me, buggered if I understand all the “must immediately change pickups” stuff that people get into in this case. Plainish top, which is great, I prefer it without question.
Might be heavy, might not, good wide strap and I don’t care. Bloody stoked!

Re: The Gibson Les Paul Model thread
My big question is - to pickguard or not? The BG Classic PP that danny is currently the caretaker of, never had a pickguard - it would hide that beautiful PP top.
My current is a Premium and has never had one fitted though it is in the case. I'm still inclined not too as per Greeny, but they look great with them as well - a'la jimmy page, the beast LP, Mark Knopflers.
But its unadulterated with holes and once drilled they're there for life, not just for xmas.

Re: The Gibson Les Paul Model thread
I’ve always been a pickguard off type guy, shame to hide the top. Your/mine/Danny’s LP wasn’t a Classic BG, it was a Standard. Or do you just mean it was a classic… jeez that doesn’t make much sense does it

Re: The Gibson Les Paul Model thread
It was a classic premium plus complete with green inlays, not overly green though. Pretty sure it was a 95 iirc, Danny could chime in . I don’t really want it back, it’s way too purdy.MiniForklift wrote: ↑Fri Jan 19, 2024 7:09 pm I’ve always been a pickguard off type guy, shame to hide the top. You may be confusing it with another you’ve owned
