Also have had my Herdim Picks delivered recently, and an eBow, and really feeling fired up to get some tribute shows happening
Wow, are you going to be the edge?
haha yes I am. My Springsteen and Pink Floyd projects are basically on pause this year, due to various reasons including people who are not available, not wanting to play too much and bore the public, etc, etc.

So I have started a U2 tribute show, which is in the early stages but coming along nicely. Built a sweet direct pedalboard and have learned a full set - just need a black beanie and I'll be away
Cool. I was playing bass in one up here. But that was across Covid cancellations etc. lots of practice and few gigs. I did sound for them up here on st paddy’s day - big night for Irish band!
They keep telling me tone is in the fingers, but I have yet to see a "look at my fingers" thread.

Interesting little amp. More of a chucked in the car and brought over, rather than in the mail.

Used to belong to a friend's grandfather who passed away recently. Quite cool sounds in it:

Will be for sale, selling on behalf for that friend, if anyone is keen. $200. Good little practice amp indeed. It's been used with a keyboard.

Acquired a Fender Tone Master Super Reverb as part of a convoluted deal last night. Certainly looks the part. Jensen 4x10 and jolly light. Anybody tried one? Thoughts?

No but I have tried a tone master Deluxe Reverb. And it sounded really good, I thought.

What’s it like Molly, any good without the valves?

I have an Analogman Prince of Tone on the way, hoping it’ll pair well with the LP

That's a huge amount of amp for the front room! I know the Tonemaster DR. Soundwise, there's no downside. If/when they break, there's no fixing them.

My Strobostomp is finally here. It's the mini, not the HD. What a beautifully presented item. They must get their packaging from the same folks who supply Apple.

Is that the one where the default frequency is set 332Hz rather than 440Hz?

It adjusts the frequency per string to make up for coming instrument inadequacies as far as I know :-)

Yes, it's per string. James Taylor has a nice YouTube video about his sweetened tuning. It's small percentage adjustments per string. There are quite a few sweetened things out there depending on playing style and genre, I think.

I need to do a firmware update before judging. The overdriven tones suck but it takes pedals well. Two channels I guess means an a/b pedal and two overdrives.

I was thinking about the no valves thing and realised I've been an an advocate of sorts for years. Did more gigs with a G-K 250ML than anything else, and also a Valvestate (one ECC83 but otherwise SS). Since Katana at one price-point and Kemper at the other I could start to worry about the long-term desirability of my boutique tube amps.

Edit: Did the update. OK but unremarkable. Plugged straight from that to the Friedman. No contest. Even chasing clean tones. I'll no doubt bin it off.

I can honestly say it's also one of the most inspiring pieces of gear I own, and has me questioning if I need my big rig anymore. Some of the presets are the nicest sounds I've played through - the Ambi Arpeggio, Dark Chorus, Fixed Wah Lead and Brown Lead are beautiful.

Never thought I'd get this satisfaction out of any type of gear that only costs $250. That might get you a decent pedal these days, but not much else.

It's got me interested in the Katana amp.
