Last. Got a few more amps to build for others before I can start building slightly more complicated circuits again. New circuit designs on the way.

Was also finally able to meet Mike! (Awesome dude)

What's this one? Doesn't look like a 5e3.

After meeting Thomas (aka Marshmallow) the other day I still think he's an amp building machine! Kudos.

These are beautifully made amps, fabulous work. Do you bend the aluminium yourself?

Marshmallow wrote: Fri Apr 26, 2024 8:58 am Figured I'd kick off a fresh thread to mark the new chapter in my building journey. With a new country comes a new approach, right?

Thanks to friends who chipped in with power tools, and with a decent job, I'm all set up to make amps for myself without having to sell them. Also got a bunch of these electrical wires from a good friend.

Few projects coming up, I'll start with the more boring ones. Build approach is still based on what I did in Japan. I completed this amp about a month ago or so ago using one of the chassis I brought with me from Japan. This build combines elements from different circuits: it's got the reverb circuit from a Custom Reverb, the preamp from a Two Rock JM amp, and the OD section from a #60. The result? Pristine and touch sensitive cleans and OD. OD is raw and the reverb circuit is the cleanest circuit I've heard in a while.

Will post gut shots in the next few days (If i remember)

Few minor details:
Gain Structure switch
Footswitch
Negative Feedback
2 parallel speaker outs with impedance selection (4,8,16)
Effects Loop
Individual bias test points.
2x 6l6,
Hammond PT, OT, Reverb and choke.

Tolex, grille and corners from LiveSound, running JBL E120.

I'll try upload build processes here as I go.
Would you share the schematic please?

Just obtained this thing - Celestion Alnico Cream 90w 8 ohm.

Freshly cut preamp boards for new projects. Just ordered the power/reverb transformers. Will start the build when they arrive.
