Not a great photo, but here's the rig I used for Big Day Out 07. Victoria Double Deluxe with a Mesa Blue Angel, on top of Ryan (Custom Audio Boutique) 's G12H30 Matamp quad:

The H30's and the Blue Angel are a (perhaps) surprisingly good match!

The Victoria was boosted by a D*A*M Red Rooster, sounded very raunchy.

Felt a bit hack to be splitting the signal with a DD3, but since neither me nor Martin own a Switchbone etc, we made do ... sounded pretty damn good anyway, didn't appear to have any ground issues or phase cancellation.

Yeah, I really wish they still had the green vinyde. I got the last green 4x12 made - there wasn't even enough vinyde for the back panel, which is black vinyde of the same texture.

Very very much so. The most compelling thing is that it SOUNDS good, but because that's such a difficult thing to discribe,

It's useable! It has a three way switch which seems to alter how the pre amp and poweramp are run. In the lowest setting it gives a warm sounding 'clean'. It's not spanky like my twin reverb is though, I guess it's because it has such low wattage. The second position sounds very ac15ish, more gainy than the first. The third is too gainy for me, probably great for ultra compressy leads.

All in all, a very blackface style sound at wattages I found really useable. I should try it with the band, it's easily as loud as my ac-15 so it will be eeeeasily loud enough for a band setting.

That switch takes the tone controls out of the circuit right?

Yeah. I emailed him to ask how exactly it worked. The short version seemed to be that it takes the eq section out of the amp, which madly boosts the signal that goes to the power tubes because apparently the eq section sucks mad volume. The boost knob works really well, the three intervals give you three gain stages on a similar sound. It really appealed to me, having an irrational dislike of channel switching amps. This is sort of a tasteful alternative. Icing on the cake is that it isn't footswitchable, that nothing on the amp is footswitchable

Yeah, I very much like the idea of seeing how much you get out of an amp by taking out, rather than putting in. Nice to get a prompt reply from them too!
