Hurdy Gurdy.... some how... and I'm not entirely certain how mind you, an instrument that sounds like someone has shoved a nest of angry hornets into a goose with a kazoo bill and is randomly slapping the poor creature with an accordion.... Sounds amazing.

Re: ash's work low down
I wish someone would put poor Ben out of his misery and buy that thing!
When he got it he found an upright bass too, and now only plays the upright for fretless jazz deals... and rightly so.
Its super cool to play and for $1500 you should be locked up, 'coz thats a steal.
One person tried it out but instead of buying it, commissioned a 5-string one. Yay for me, sucks for Ben.

I did think about it.
I'm probably more interested in his AI head for the fretless I currently have.
resale value on custom instruments is not really the go is it?

Re: ash's work low down
Depends on the instrument I guess. The market for unusually proportioned non-traditional fretless basses is probably pretty tiny for any brand. Plus he didn't pay as much as he's suggesting.

Cool, glad to hear it. I always wonder a bit with fretlessness whether I've done it right, 'coz its not really my bag. Everyone seems to like them so far. I have a scary big 5-string fretless coming up.Kev77 wrote:BTW ash that frettless frankenstiend you did for me - is the Pizz shizz
