Mr Pointy nears completion

Post by Bg »

you know you love it :) I've arrowed the damage in one pic where the drill chuck dug in, I can hardly see it :) I've gone for a transparent-ish black and the body and neck are finished with Tru-oil (available from all good guns and ammo shops, so don't wear a hoody when you go to buy it ) which goes on really nicely and shines up a treat. I didn't bother grainfilling as I had just planned a standard danish oil finish, in hindsight if I'd grainfilled the Tru-oil finish would have been excellent! I've put very few coats on but one day I may grainfill and build up the layers more...

Just need to sort out the wiring now :D

p.s. just in case you hadn't figured it out, if you click on the image it will expand to full size ;)

I would have needed a pack of rizzlas  well not that much but probably enough to justify making a proper wooden shim to glue in. I took off what I thought was the bare minimum. Oops...

I really like that... much in the way I really like old Holdens, Fords and Valiants... it kind of appeals to my bogan side.
Give a man a fish and you feed him for a day. Teach a man to fish and he'll spend thousands on fishing equipment he'll use for a bit, then get bored and move onto something else.
