Which look for my strat?

Post by Basket Case »

I've bought a Fender (rosewood) neck, so now I need a body colour and pickguard. I've narrowed it down to these choices...

Option 1

Option 2

Option 3

Option 4

Or a more expensive Option 5

Or do you have another combo that you think looks the shiz?

#2 with the pickgaurd from #4

then get a jigsaw and add some pointy bits....
Hurdy Gurdy.... some how... and I'm not entirely certain how mind you, an instrument that sounds like someone has shoved a nest of angry hornets into a goose with a kazoo bill and is randomly slapping the poor creature with an accordion.... Sounds amazing.

Option 1. Don't like the pickguards on 2/3/4 and the overall effect of those matched with the body colours makes them look very 80s in a bad way (whereas 1 is 80s in a good way). 5 looks like those incredibly expensive, hand-made, way better than the best Fender customshop style strats that seem to have to look expensive to justify the fact that they are $15k with a 3 year waiting list, but in fact end up just looking like they are trying too hard...

Strats should be simple...

 Well I might be getting it routed for a Floyd, so pointiness would be the next logical step

I'm abstaining due to lack of Dave Gilmour style black pickguard on black body

Definitely #1, but it would probably suit a maple neck/board better IMO. The rosewood neck will look slick though on the white body.

3 with a white pickguard. MOTO guards are so mid-90s.
