+1!!!!

We end our gig with this song most nights. I carve up a massive extended solo and it feels awesome EVERY time!!!!

My fave for this topic is:

Little FIghter - White Lion.
Vitto Bratta was magnificent in everything he did - but this one in particular was just awesome!!
"Volume is tone" - EVH

Electrics: ESP/Fender/Gibson/.strandberg*/Godin/Washburn/Music Man/Knaggs/Squier/Vintage
Acoustic: Cole Clark/Godin/Takamine/Taylor
Amps: BOSS Katana Head / Friedman Smallbox

Yep, Vito was awesome. Such a shame that he disappeared and never resurfaced. I think he's pretty bitter towards the whole music industry.

Sublime - Santeria
Steve Lukather - Hold the Line
Elliot Easton - Best Friends Girl (also winner of most country cliche licks in a pop solo :))

Honourable mention for most of Ian Moss' solos

Megadeth - Tornado of Souls

Used to do it in a covers band because our lead guitarist could do it perfectly. Love that one.

I like alot of stevie stevens solos, he pretty much got it sussed, some others:
The sleep - Pantera
For all eternity - Fight
Stranger in a strange land - Iron Maiden
Black knight (original) - Deep purple
Any Testament ballad pretty much has awesome solos
Anything James murphy solos on.
And something about Lynch on Dokkens back for the attack album, that dude was styling then.

Side note: Lynch mobs latest album not to shabby, Oni back on vox.

Khann wrote:John Frusciante - Before The Beginning... may not count, the whole song is a solo. Very Maggot Brain-ish.
John Frusciante - Anne
John Frusciante - With Love
John Frusciante - Second Walk
John Frusciante - The Past Recedes
RHCP - Readymade
RHCP - Strip My Mind
RHCP - I Could Have Lied
RHCP - C'mon Girl (the one that starts at 3:20)
RHCP - Wet Sand
RHCP - Turn It Again (the one at 4:50)

I was going to put RHCP's Scar Tissue, but I think I've seen that on a list.

Uhh... notice a trend?
Needs more Fr00sh.

EDIT:
Also I'd have to throw in Californication. Nice call on before the beginning though tasty as solo

Rob mentioned Allan Holdsorth's Road Games, so I'll up him with Fredrik Thordendal on his solo album Sol Niger Within: Zeta 1 - Reticuli, his leads on Meshuggah's Future Breed Machine are awesome too.

Also...

Opeth - Moonlapse Vertigo. Honestly I can think of many amazing Opeth solos.

Devin Townsend - Deep Peace, Stagnant

Cynic - How Could I?, The Space For This

I could think of many more but those are some really good ones.
