I really like QOTSA, but didn't bother with their last album because the single 'Sick Sick Sick' was a load of crap and put me off. Is the rest of the album worth checking out?

Yeah, there's quite a bit of variety on there. Worth a look.

Yeah, although my favourite bit about the album is the super low tuned mechanical riffs with melodic singing over the top. Sick Sick Sick doesn't have the melody as strongly as most of the tracks, but I liked the single. Not heavy enough for you? For me this my threshold of heaviness

Have to say, I enjoyed the whole album. You can hear a lot of QOTSA influence in there, but also the Led Zep-ness shines through pretty heavily at times, especially on Scumbag Blues. Great album, all killer, no filler.
