Fitting cooling fans to amps?

Post by Aquila Rossa »

My apartment is stinking bloody hot, so I don't like running my overclocked Marshall head for too long. I just jammed with it and that old DOD pedal for about an hour and a half, so it so hot that I could probably fry an egg on the amp chassic right now. Tubes will not last in those conditions.
I have two spare computer case fans (1x120mm and 1x80mm), anybody know the best way to install them?
I'm think of having the big fan exhausting out the rear grill and the small fan inside the chassis drawing cool air in. I think powering by a 12v adaptor may be the easiest way to run them.
Anyone done this cooling thing before?

One of the old signs of a broke overclocker was the side of the computer case off, with a big desk fan permanently blowing air inside the case.

Mind you, one of the signs of a nutty overclocker used to be a length of that flexible silver ducting going from an aircon unit straight to the computer.

Don't forget to unlock the multiplier and raise your voltages!

But my Marshalls are from the seventies. They don't even have a right mouse button!
