Ive never learnt any of them, maybe one day I will, I rekon just play around with notes, jam along to chords and hear what sounds right or wrong to you.

I'm going to learn a few more of them. I know and heavily use the first position, but I want to learn a few more, just to give it a bit more variety.

Hey, is there a difference between the Pentatonic scale, and the blues scale? I've heard people mention the blues scale a bit, and I've always assumed they meant the Pentatonic.

In short yes. The Pentatonic minor is normally the Root note + minor 3rd, 4th, 5th, and minor 7th. What I would call the blues scale would add in a chromatic note between the 4th and 5th.

For example in the A minor pentatonic scale is A C D E G, the A minor blues scale is A C D D# E G.

Actually.. I think there are several blues scales. Wiki says what I've talked about is the hexatonic blues scale. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Blues_scale
