I have replaced the tuners and the tailpiece is non-original. Otherwise, everything is stock and in remarkable condition.
A one-trick pony but, that one trick, thick greasy slide is outasight.
The 1482 has had all the caps. upgraded, the grill cloth replaced, and the original speaker replaced with a 12" Celestion Blue.
Still has the original transformers in it. I've agonised over and over about replacing them.
I saw a Fender Custom Shop Strat and amp in the Rockshop about 100 years ago which was completely mother of toilet seat pearl finished like the guitar here. I mean all over. Its stuck in my mind forever. I wonder who bought it.
He hit a chord that rocked the spinet and disappeared into the infinite ...
I'd say keep the transformers if you like the sound of the amp, since they contribute a fair bit. If you replace the transformers (and like the sound with the new xfrmrs) keep the old ones for resale value.

Yes, that's the conclusion that I've come to. I can put up with the inconvenience of having to use a step-down transformer. Resistors have no doubt drifted something awful but, I'm not changing them either.
That's some great looking stuff there, thanks for sharing (have you posted this before?). Is that pickup anything like those Stratotone ones? They are insanely good for slide.

Replacing the power transformer is not going to change your tone. Basil Padgett could rewind it to 240V.

delusional, illogical minority, and rabidly promoted by an
unscrupulous mainstream media, which holds forth the proposition that it is entirely possible to pick up a turd by the clean end"

Yes, I have posted this before. I had a nagging feeling, checked, and found that I had.
I've not had the Stratotone experience but, I have read that they're great p/u's for slide.
